Featuring:
Dr. Patrick Kenney
Dean of ASU's College of Liberal Arts & Sciences and Professor, School of Politics & Global Studies

Dr. Kenney has enjoyed a spectacular 30-year career at ASU. We are thrilled and honored to host him during the presidential election cycle, as he is a widely published scholar and author in a number of areas including electorate politics and related issues. Professor Kenney has authored and co-authored articles in the American Political Science Review, American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of Politics and several other journals. He has co-authored three books with Kim Fridkin, The Spectacle of U.S. Senate Campaigns (Princeton Press, 1999), No-Holds Barred: Negativity in U.S. Senate Campaigns (Prentice Hall, 2004) and The Changing Face of Representation (University of Michigan Press, 2014). His research areas are in campaigns, elections, and voting behavior. Hearing his insights into the upcoming November election, with the unique circumstance of having a contest between the first female candidate and an entrepreneur who has not previously worked in government, will be fascinating.

In regard to Dr. Kenney, ASU President Dr. Michael Crow says, "ASU is a venue for educational discourse related to politics and society, and an incubator for discovery and development that helps students to be socially aware citizens capable of thinking critically, Patrick Kenney's 12 years of leadership at ASU and exceptional grounding in research and social sciences position him perfectly to offer the guidance necessary to advance ASU's largest unit and develop the educational and research underpinnings needed to address the complex challenges facing our society."
